WALED
The Alumni club of the Mastership and Master of Science programs of RWTH Aachen University

Dear AALZ and RWTH Aachen University Alumni,

 

today, we would like to introduce you to the World Academy for Laser Education in Dentistry (WALED).

WALED is the new academic and educational worldwide network of AALZ and has been established to realize an international academy of excellence for postgraduate education and research in laser dentistry.

You, as a graduate from AALZ and RWTH Aachen University will automatically be a member of this academy!

 

The goal of WALED is to standardize education concepts based on evidence based research as well as treatment protocols based on evidence based preclinical and clinical research.

 

WALED members will be integrated in long-term clinical multi-center studies and collaborate to publish clinical cases in different journals (Laser Magazine, LIMS, Laser Books, Databases).

 

WALED will organize every year 2 symposia of which one symposium will be held in Aachen on the last day of the Master of Science Exams in September and one symposium in the first half of the year, linked to the countries of AALZ branches and AALZ academic co-workers.

 

An academic rating agency in laser dentistry will be established.  The journals “Lasers in Medical Science” (LIMS) and “LASER, the international magazine of laser dentistry” are the official publication organs and newsletter for WALED.

 

The Mission of WALED is 

  • to provide outstanding postgraduate educational programs and to offer lifelong learning opportunities for the laser supported dentistry profession
  • to offer high-quality, state-of-the-art oral health care, which includes health promotion, disease prevention and intervention
  • to encourage innovation in oral healthcare delivery to meet changing global healthcare needs
  • to conduct research that generates and applies biomedical, behavioral, and clinical knowledge and technology to health and disease
  • to promote the transfer of technology to the dental care delivery system
  • to impact health globally using resources that will influence the healthcare beliefs of the public and, thereby, the knowledge, skills, values, and beliefs of healthcare professionals

  3. You can register as a FREE WALED Member and receive the two official WALED Journals: “Lasers in Medical Science” (LIMS, six issues per year) and “Laser: International Magazine for laser dentistry” (four issues per year).

At the moment, we are in negotiations with the publishers to offer you the best price.(WLFD members will not receive the LIMS subscription anymore from 2012 on)

 

As one of the first activities we would like to cordially invite you to the 1st International WALED Symposium that will take place on 14-16 June 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey!

EMDOLA Awarding Ceremony
26 November 2009, Aachen

All successful graduates of the postgraduate Master of Science programme „Lasers in Dentistry“ (M.Sc.) will receive their certificates of the European Master Degree of Oral Laser Application (EMDOLA) in a joint ceremony on Thursday, 26 November 2009 in the Medical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University, Germany. This is the first and unique European bestowal in Dentistry and is another highlight in the professional carrier as well as an extraordinary appreciation of the performance of all Master Alumni from RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and from the Universities of Nice (France) and Liège (Belgium).

Since 2004 more than 100 dentists have already achieved this outstanding degree in Aachen only.

Redesign AALZ Webseiten
Endlich ist es soweit.
Nachdem der AALZ Anfang 2009 seine Aussendarstellung komplett überarbeitet hat, folgt nun auch der neue Internetauftritt. Neben dem neuen Design wurde auch eine komplett neue Struktur erarbeitet, die es Interessierten - wie auch unseren Alumni - einfach macht sich zurecht zu finden.
